What should I wear to class?

Active wear should be worn to class, such as leggings and a singlet. Hair should be tied back and out of the face. Physie shoes (silver ballet shoes) are optional, but preferred, for class.

 

What age group will I be in?

Girls aged 3-16 are placed in groups based on their age on August 31st. Girls and ladies aged 17+ are placed into senior and ladies groups based on age and previous experience. 

What type of competitions are held?

Girls and ladies can compete in both individual and team competitions. The competitive season begins with inter-club competitions around August, where different clubs combine in a fun and friendly environment. Around October, zone qualifying competitions, called 'Champion Girl' and 'Champion Lady', are held in Sydney. Girls and ladies who compete at zone can then be selected to advance to State Finals, and then State Grand Finals.

What do I wear to competitions?

In EP Physie, girls and ladies wear leotards with skirts and physie shoes. Girls aged 10+ can choose to wear 'shimmers' (skin-coloured solid stocking) and girls and ladies 13+can choose to wear 'fishnets' (skin coloured fishnet stocking). Makeup can only be worn from the age of 13. Hair should be worn off the face, but can be done in a variety of styles according to personal preference.
